If you get around the capital, it is essential to know the latest transport prices. From 1 January 2026, the new official fares approved by Madrid City Council (Ayuntamiento) and the Community of Madrid (Comunidad de Madrid) come into force.

Main Changes to the 2026 Fares
This year, fares have seen a weighted update of 2.38%, staying below the CPI (inflation). The aim is to balance the costs of the service while keeping prices competitive for passengers.
The most notable changes include a slight adjustment to the price per kilometre and per hour, as well as updates to the minimum fare from stations and the special nights supplement.
1. General Urban Fares (Tariff 1 and 2)
The price of your taxi varies depending on the day and time. Here is the breakdown so you can work out your route:
Tariff 1 (Daytime on weekdays)

Tariff 2 (Night-time and weekends)
Applies every day from 9:00 pm to 7:00 am, and all day on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

TAXMAD note: The starting price (flag-down fare) stays the same as last year; what rises slightly is the cost per kilometre travelled.
2. Taxi Price to Madrid Airport (Barajas)
This is the most frequent question among our passengers. Depending on your destination or origin, two different fares apply:
Tariff 4: The €33.00 "Flat Rate"

No surprises: This fare does not allow supplements or extra charges for luggage or time of day.

When it applies: Valid 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Tariff 3: €22.00 Minimum Fare
If you take a taxi at the airport terminal ranks and your destination is outside the M-30 (and the journey is under 9 km), a minimum fare of €22.00 applies

How does it work? The first 9 km (or equivalent time) are covered by that €22. Once that distance is exceeded, the taxímetro (meter) keeps running according to the applicable tariff (1 or 2).

Important: This minimum fare does not apply if you have pre-booked the service (for example, through our App or Website).
3. Fares at Train Stations, Bus Stations and IFEMA (Tariff 7)
If you take a taxi from the official ranks at Atocha, Chamartín, Estación Sur de Autobuses (South Bus Station), Av. de América or the IFEMA trade fair grounds, Tariff 7 applies.

Starting price: €8.00.

What does it include? This price covers the first 1,450 metres of the journey.
New for 2026: This amount has risen from €7.50 to €8.00, a necessary update that had not been made since 2019.
4. Special Supplements and Pre-booked Services
Christmas and New Year Supplement
If you travel on the most special nights of the year, bear in mind the €7.00 supplement.

When it applies: Journeys ending between 9:00 pm and 7:00 am the following day on the nights of 24 December (Christmas Eve) and 31 December (New Year's Eve).
Maximum Pick-up Price
When you order a taxi remotely (by phone or App), the meter starts running on the way to the pick-up point. The regulations set a maximum limit of €5.00 for this "approach" amount in zones A and B.

Remember: If you are not at the pick-up point when the taxi arrives, the meter will start running again.
